Georgetown University Registrar | Students Participating in the Consortium Students Participating in the Consortium

The Consortium of Universities of the Washington Metropolitan Area, includes: American University, Catholic University of America, Gallaudet University, George Mason University, George Washington University, Georgetown University, Howard University, Joint Military Intelligence College, Marymount University, National Defense University, Southeastern University, Trinity University, University of the District of Columbia, and the University of Maryland-College Park.

Consortium enrollment is available on a space-available basis to degree-program students currently enrolled in a Consortium member school visiting another member school. Registration Instructions

Georgetown student visiting Consortium (ADD) If you are an undergraduate student, please obtain a Consortium registration form at your Dean's Office. Once registration begins, you will need approval from your Dean and the visited university authority (program, department, or instructor) for the course. If you are a graduate student, please obtain a Consortium registration form at the Graduate School Dean's Office. Once registration begins, you will need approval from your Dean, your academic advisor, and the visited university authority (program, department, or instructor) for the course. Provide visited university written permission to the Georgetown Consortium Coordinator with your request and Georgetown will forward the documentation to the school you wish to visit. If the requested course is not full, nor restricted, nor excluded from Consortium you will be registered. A copy of the request will be available for you to pick-up at the Georgetown University Registrar's Office within two business days. Requested courses and tuition charges will be added to your student record and student account as soon as possible. Registration activity may delay addition of Consortium courses. Please notify the GU Consortium Coordinator if disbursement of your financial aid depends on Consortium courses appearing on your student record.
Consortium student visiting Georgetown (ADD)

Contact your home university Consortium Coordinator to submit an official Consortium request. Once registration begins at Georgetown for the semester, seek written Georgetown permission from the Georgetown authority (program, department, or instructor) for the course. Provide Georgetown written permission to your home Coordinator with your request and they will forward the form and permission to Georgetown. If the requested course is not full, nor restricted, nor excluded from Consortium, you will be registered.

To access electronic resources at Georgetown, follow the steps below to obtain a NetID:
1. Search the online directory for your name. If it appears, a NetID has been generated for you.
2. Claim a temporary password. Afterwards, you must create a permanent password.
3. Route your email to your home university (this will allow you to use Blackboard).

Georgetown student visiting Consortium (DROP/CHANGE) Contact the Georgetown Consortium Coordinator to request any drop/change and the Coordinator will notify the school you intend to visit. Do not drop Consortium courses online as Georgetown's coordinator nor the visited university coordinator will not be notified of the drop. You may be responsible for tuition charges at Georgetown and the grade you receive will become permanent on your transcript.
Consortium student visiting Georgetown (DROP/CHANGE) Contact your home university Consortium Coordinator to request a drop/change and the Coordinator will notify Georgetown. Do not drop Consortium courses through MyAccess as Georgetown will not be notified of the drop. You may be responsible for tuition charges at your home university and the Georgetown grade you receive will be reported to your university.
