Georgetown University Registrar | Degree Audit
Degree
Audit
The function of the degree audit is
primarily to assist you and your faculty advisor in determining
what courses you will need to take in order to graduate. It
also enumerates your academic performance by discipline and can
be used to detail particular areas of strength or weakness. While
the audit report itself may look somewhat impenetrable, it is actually
quite easy to read once you know what each section of the report
means. To view your degree audit please visit Student
Access+.
Summary of Credit toward Graduation
This
section displays how many credits you have obtained thus far ("passed"),
how many credits you are currently enrolled in ("in/prog"),
and your overall GPA for the number of credits you have taken to
date. Your Georgetown career will be listed under "Georgetown
Resident Credit"; previous colleges attended and other credits
(e.g. advanced placement credit, international baccalaureate credit)
will show up on subsequent lines.
- Academic Requirements Remaining: Here,
the remaining academic requirements and the specific course work
that you need to fulfill these requirements are delineated. It
assumes your successful completion of all course work for which
you are currently enrolled.
- Academic Requirements Completed
or in Progress: The classes that you have taken to
date, and the course work that you are currently registered
for will show up here, broken down by departmental requirement. Courses
in which you are currently enrolled will be marked with a "registered" notation;
these courses are not factored into the GPA of each departmental
requirement.
- Work not Applicable to this Program: This
section shows courses from which you have withdrawn, or courses
that do not count towards your degree program (e.g., a pottery
class while enrolled in the MBA program)
