Health statistics tell a story of unequal burden for African American families and their communities in terms of pregnancy and infant loss.
Sometimes this painful reality is not visible, because families do not share their losses or others in the community would rather not know about such sad events.
If African-American church communities are going to improve their support for families experiencing these losses, the first step is to open their eyes to the health inequities.
