Home >> NRCBL >> Events >> Health Care Decisions Day Health Care Decisions Day at Georgetown UniversityGeorgetown University Hospital, along with other national, state and community organizations, is leading a massive effort to highlight the importance of advance healthcare decision-making — an effort that has culminated in the formal designation of April 16, 2008 as the inaugural National Healthcare Decisions Day. Librarians from the National Reference Center for Bioethics Literature will be joined by Hospital Chaplains, Social Workers, Patient Advocates, and Ethicists at information tables set up at major entrances to the hospital from 9 AM to 3 PM. Plan to stop by and bring your questions or simply pick up copies of sample advance directives and other literature about advance health care decision-making. Specialized resources are available and additional assistance can be obtained onsite at the Bioethics Library of the Kennedy Institute of Ethics (National Reference Center for Bioethics Literature), in Healy 102 or on the web at http://bioethics.georgetown.edu. As part of this effort the Center for Clinical Bioethics is sponsoring lecture on Advance Care Planning in Gorman Auditorium at 12 noon. Carol Taylor, RN, PhD, will be posing two questions to the Georgetown University Hospital community:
